“Travel is more than just visiting new places; it’s about embracing the unknown, meeting incredible people, and experiencing the world’s rich diversity firsthand.” – Jane Middleton
Having had the privilege of visiting both Antarctica and the Arctic, Jane shares a personal and inspiring journey to two of the most remote and extraordinary regions on Earth. Through photographs, stories and first-hand experiences—including Zodiac excursions, encounters with remarkable wildlife and even a few polar plunges—she explores the dramatic landscapes and unique environments found at both ends of our planet.
From the Antarctic Peninsula and Ross Sea to Greenland, Svalbard and the Canadian High Arctic, Jane reveals the geography of the polar regions and how these seemingly distant places influence the entire world.
Jane Middleton is the founder of The Authentic Travel Company and a former finance executive.
Prior to establishing her business in 2019, Jane held senior leadership roles in the aviation and aerospace sectors, including positions with Rockwell Collins, Virgin Atlantic and TNT Express.
A well-respected figure within the aviation community, Jane has served in numerous industry and charitable roles, including Chairman of Airlines UK, Trustee of the Royal Air Force Museum American Foundation, and Chair of the Future Flight Advisory Group. She holds an MSc in Air Transport Management from City University and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters by the University of West London in recognition of her contributions to aviation.
Jane is passionate about travel and has completed two self build projects.
