Filming & Photoshoots

The Library and Drawing Room at the University Women’s Club have been sought out by production teams and photographers for decades — and it is not difficult to see why. These are rooms with genuine character: original period features, ornate cornicing, grand fireplaces, antique parquet flooring, hand-painted Chinoiserie wall panels, crystal chandeliers, and the kind of layered, light-filled atmosphere that simply cannot be replicated on a set.

The spaces have appeared in the opening professionals’ dance on Strictly Come Dancing and featured in the BBC’s 1986 production of Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple: At Bertram’s Hotel, starring Joan Hickson. They are regularly chosen for interviews, documentaries, and editorial shoots — valued for their authenticity, their visual depth, and the warmth of natural light across rich textures and period detail.

Both rooms are versatile enough to accommodate large-scale productions and intimate setups alike. The Library, with its view across Park Lane to Hyde Park and access to a private terrace, offers sweeping possibilities. The Drawing Room, with its grand piano and garden outlook, provides an elegance that suits everything from fashion shoots to period drama.

Our team will work with you to ensure your shoot or production runs smoothly, with full access to the spaces and support throughout.
